Located at 543 Deering Avenue in the heart of Portland, Maine, the Bayou Kitchen is a unique restaurant serving Louisiana-inspired breakfast and lunch daily.
The Bayou has been a landmark in Portland for over 25 years. Its current owner and chef are Karl Silander who bought the restaurant back in 2006. Karl has been a chef and caterer in Maine and New Jersey for over 24 years.
The Bayou Kitchen offers breakfast and lunch with a flair for all things Cajun, great pancakes, and omelets overflowing with the freshest ingredients. If you like it spicy, be sure to visit the wall of hot sauces! Many of them are local, especially Captain Mowatt's Canceaux Sauce and the bottles of Lost Woods on every table.
