Call To OrderThe Bayou Kitchen is the real deal. Thoroughly enjoyed my bowl of gumbo with crawfish (good roux!), cornbread and side of homemade corned beef hash. Our waiter plopped down at our table to take our order, which felt like being back in NOLA. My next visit to Portland will include a visit to The Bayou Kitchen.
Awesome little breakfast spot. Great service, better food. Casual, colorful, and you can see the cooks making the food right in front of you. I had the El Rancho Verde Omelette (spicy, saucy, yummy!). Hubby had the French toast with a side of chorizo, which he was wishing he had more of. Home fries were crispy and seasoned well. Will definitely come back here when in Portland next.
Great breakfast spot. Staff was so friendly and let us know that they would come back to take our order to let the kitchen catch up, it was nice to be in the know! I had the El Rancho Verde, homies and blueberry cornbread with a side of homemade hash. Huge portions and so delicious!
A great brunch spot with lots of great choices for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. As a vegetarian, I tend to be wary of southern food restaurants, but this place does an amazing job of offering vegetarian versions of all the southern classics. Can't wait to go back!
One of the more interesting brunch spots in the area. I love the grits, cornbread, crawfish dishes, and awesome assortment of hot sauces. My only complaint is that is can be really hot during the summer because of a lack of fans or AC coupled with an open kitchen. However, the food is good enough to still make it a solid option, and I'm looking forward to going back!
